Flow meter types and where they fit

Our Silver Instruments CMF series Coriolis mass flow meter measures direct mass flow for chemicals, edible oils, LPG, and marine fuel. You can select DN15 to DN150 sizes with pressure up to 40 bar and temperature up to 200 °C. Accuracy is ±0.2 percent of rate. A paint plant in Vietnam uses this series for solvent mass balance and reports less than 1 percent batch deviation. The output is 4-20 mA HART and RS485 Modbus RTU.

Silver Instruments EMF series electromagnetic flow meters handle conductive liquids from 5 µS/cm. Sizes run from DN10 to DN1000. We use PTFE or hard rubber liners and 316L stainless steel electrodes. ATEX Zone 1 versions are available. Water intakes, wastewater discharge lines, and chemical dosing skids in Southeast Asia and the Middle East use these meters. If you measure seawater, we specify a PTFE liner and titanium electrodes.

In practice, most engineers skip the display details until commissioning. Requesting a local digital display and a 4-20 mA HART output at the same time avoids opening the instrument later.

Here is the thing. A flow meter quotation without process data is only a guess. Send us the fluid name, pressure in bar, temperature in °C, pipe size in DN, flow range, and required output. If your site needs ATEX or IECEx, state the zone and gas group. For seawater desalination, also send salinity and operating pressure.
